Dr. Karen Hammond, DSW, LCSW, is a trauma-informed therapist, educator, and founder of Blue Lavender Clinical Services, LLC. She brings to her work a rare blend of clinical expertise, lived experience, and heartfelt purpose. Having overcome profound personal adversity, such as life-threatening illness and major life transitions, Dr. Hammond rebuilt her life with intention—guided by the values of integrity, compassion, and growth.
She is deeply committed to helping others heal from trauma. To do this, she integrates traditional and experiential therapies, such as EMDR, Gestalt Therapy, Sandplay, Internal Family Systems, and body-based approaches. As a passionate learner and natural teacher, Dr. Hammond also creates continuing education programs for mental health professionals and educators. In these programs, she translates complex neuroscience into practical tools for healing and connection.
Known for her warmth, insight, and fierce dedication, Dr. Hammond leads a growing team of clinicians who offer inclusive care across the lifespan—from children to elders.
